West Lodge, Chilworth Gunpowder Mills, Blacksmith Lane. This innocuous looking building is of significant historical importance. It was the ‘entry’ point for the workers entering the Gunpowder Mills and was in use until 1920! St Martha’s Parish Council now have an opportunity to repurpose the building for community use. We are therefore inviting the local community to support our funding application which is needed to bring the building uptodate for modern use. We would also welcome your contributions and ideas for its use bearing in mind it is very small and there will be limited parking.
Currently we are applying to Surrey County Council Your Fund Surrey for funding. To be successful we require your votes and support and would like to encourage you to visit
