Parish Council Committee

These meet when required and Agendas are posted on the noticeboards within the statutory time frame.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

All Councillors are appointed as members of this committee.

This has responsibility for

• scrutinising the accounts
• ensuring proper procedures are adopted and reviewed annually
• assisting the Responsible Financial Officer in the execution of his/her
  duties
• overseeing conditions of Insurance are updated, Asset Register and Health and Safety aspects of the Council’s physical assets

EMPLOYMENT COMMITTEE

This has responsibility for

• Monitoring performance of employee
• Recognising, discussing and resolving any employment related issues
• Ensuring the Council has in place relevant and current employment guidance

The Chairman of the Council will normally chair both the Finance and Employment committees. Minutes of committees meetings are recorded.

PLANNING COMMITTEE

All Councillors are appointed as members of this committee.

The Parish Council is a statutory consultee of the Guildford Borough Council.

• Councillors undertake site visits to appraise the proposals and recommend a corporate response to the Guildford Borough Planning Department, either to approve or oppose the application.
• The Council is not permitted to engage in a dialogue with the applicant directly, or provide pre-submission advice.
• Representing the Council’s views at any public hearing
• Arranging public meetings to discuss major planning issues
